Question: Why do just people obey unjust laws?
My most basic principle is that every individual should have the right to do whatever they want as long as they do not interfere with the liberty and well being of other individual. People should never be persecuted for living their life the way they choose, “just” or “unjust” so long as they do not compromise the rights of others. The United State’s Government was never intended to be what it has become when it was established in 1776. Where does the governments authority to decide who is morally superior even come from? I know it doesn’t come from the constitution, no matter how badly some people would like to tell you it does. The political machines have you fooled if you believe for one second that their existence is essential to democracy, or that our current state is a healthy one. Some how the government took on the role of a parent and ever since things have been going to hell. The governments only purpose is to protect it’s citizens rights and liberty, almost every other action is unconstitutional. Don’t believe me? Read the constitution, don’t listen the unscrupulous politicians and lawyers who twist and manipulate it beyond a recognizable appearance. Aside from the grammatical errors you might find, what the constitution says and means is extremely transparent. Most of the laws created that take money from your pay check, decide what is important for you child to learn, dictate what you are allowed to do to yourself and otherwise tell you how to live because “this way” is right and yours is wrong… I’m not saying people should break the law, but simply asking you to at least take a second, and think about them and why you obey it.

What grammatical errors? I’ve never seen grammatical errors in the Constitution.
Question: Why do people keep asking the same question over and over?
Some folks obviously just want to vent and make some statement or another? “George Bush is evil… / Can you enumerate the ways? ” etc. Come on, get over it… If you have a question to ask, then ask it. But if you want to Ask “Why did the United States invade Iraq? then why don’t you look up the facts in the US State Department website or the UN website or something. If you just want to express your dissatisfaction with the President then fine, do it, but how many times can you fashion a question that does nothing but facilitate your own debate in your own little head.
And yes I know… THIS SAME QUESTION HAS BEEN ASKED… But I didn’t see it in the Military page yet!!!
I suppose I’m just venting!!! Not unlike a few others

They just want to vent, as you said. They have no valid questions to ask.
Question: Why don’t you people see in 100 years women will rule the world?
They are creatures run by emotion and with the way “women rights” are going they will feel the need to get special treatment over everything, then after that their corrupted ways will influence every other country in the world until they finally see the need to enslave all male kind.
Yeah that’s right the world will become one big S&M fest unless we stop feminism before it destroys are earth, together we must unite and stop these evil beings; so who is with me?

Question: Why do so many people refer to the Treaty of Tripoli as a means of proving that the United States was not?
Christian, when, in fact, there are a great many more U.S. treaties entered into under the authority of God or under God?
A partial list:
MEXICO, 1848:
“In the name of Almighty God:
The United States of America and the United Mexican States. . . ”
MEXICO, 1853:
“In the name of Almighty God:
The Republic of Mexico and the United States of America. . . ”
COLUMBIA, 1824:
“In the name of God, Author and Legislator of the Universe.
The United States of America, and the Republic of Columbia. . . ”
CHILE, 1832:
“In the name of God, Author and Legislator of the Universe.
The United States of America, and the Republic of Chili. . . ”
OTHER U.S. TREATIES WHICH USE THE WORD “GOD” OR “ALMIGHTY GOD”:
In 1787, Thomas Jefferson and John Adams signed a treaty with Morocco titled “Treaty of Peace and Friendship.” This treaty was done under the authority of “Almighty God.” It also said “trusting in God it will remain permanent.”
In 1865, the United States and Morocco with 10 other powers signed a treaty that began this way:
“In the name of the only God! There is no strength nor power but of God.
“His Excellency the President of the United States of America. . . ”
In 1890, the United States along with at least 15 other nations entered into a treaty against the slave trade. The treaty was titled: “General Act For the Repression of the African Slave Trade.” The treaty began this way:
“In the Name of God Almighty.
The President of the United States of America . . . (other nations followed).”
I have more, but I’m trying to avoid the “Wallo’text” syndrome.
Your thoughts?

Answer by Friedrich Schulz
I can be sure to tell you that Mexico is devoutly Catholic, and probably would never sign any treaty without the word of God. As are most South American Countries.
Morocco is a Islamic Country, and they too take God seriously.
I can’t explain that last one though/
Question: How do you react to people (strangers, generally) who offer you their unsolicited people opinions?
At work yesterday, I had a customer tell me about how all the “Muslims” were building secret “terrorist camps” right here in the United States. Ooo, scary. Muslims.
I said, in a very dry way, “I’m sorry, sir, but you’ve mistaken me for someone who cares about your opinion.”
It kind of threw him off and he didn’t say anything else.

Answer by I Love Howie Carr
That was pretty rude, if you were working and the person was a customer. People like to make conversation. I suggest you find a job where you don’t have to interact with the general public, because with comments like that, you’re going to be fired, anyway. Maybe you could try saying that in a Muslim country and see what happens.
Question: 24/7, 364 [sic] days a year to keep the American people safe,” said Napolitano what do they with one day off?
Sawyer asked about recent comments from Michael Leiter at the National Counterterrorism Agency, asserting that not all attacks can be stopped and some innocent lives will inevitably be lost.
“I think Mike Leiter was correct,” Napolitano said. “You cannot hermetically seal the United States.”
“We’re not going to bat 1,000 necessarily. We can’t guarantee that,” said Clapper. “But we’re certainly doing everything we can to ensure that we do thwart any kind of an attack.”
“What I say to the American people is that … thousands of people are working 24/7, 364 [sic] days a year to keep the American people safe,” said Napolitano.
“There are evil people in the world who are trying to do us harm,” said Brennan, “but this government has come an awfully long way.”

Christmas day ?
Question: Is our society plagued by egotistical people who have been brought up to seek to feel important and charitable
Think about it. Christians are constantly told to give charitably, to multiply their talents, (to claim that they know that Jesus was infallible, when they don’t)>> this giving them the need to focus on knowing something that they don’t and insisting that they do and that they matter because they supposedly do, and that they should do as much “charity”, call as much attention to themselves as they can so that everyone will know that they are this way….supposedly a better way, and to respect authority who got to higher paid, respectable positions because they too came from this Christianity. And then we have this mixed with the permission to kill in war and the proliferation of this ego with weapons availability. So, as the mind starts to fail, as we get older, if we are left with this “need to mean…..to matter, to give” and if we do not feel adequate in that, …..we turn to forcing our untimely unnecessary contributions on others and eventually turn to hurt them possibly?
There are many who get elevated to positions where they feel respected, who got the respect and notariety that their churches taught them that they deserved….so they could continuously contribute more to their social organizations, and wear suits and ties and feel like they meant something. But what about the vast majority of those who became disatisfied because they did not feel part of that “revolution”? Where do they go, what do they do …to attempt to get that attention……what disorders/diseases of the mind, what dysfunctions do they then become unleashed to as a result of their programming and developing environment?
What sincerity do we owe them if our society is to remain functional and near to sanity?
Case in point……”Charles Lee “Cookie” Thornton” at the Kirkwood, Missouri town meeting.

Kind of an aside, I often speculate (wistfully) how different my life would be if I could’ve been devoutly faithful to God with no doubts whatsoever.
To be able to commit to my life’s goals without that troubling me all the time… I wonder.
Question: Why do people give to charities? Is it stupidty?
When you watch the Salvation Army bell jiggler, what do you think? I think of mass stupidity. Bush gave $ 30 billion to Africa for supposedly “AIDS”. Do you know that every Salvation Army jiggler across the entire nation for the last 100 years combined only took in a fraction of the $ 30 billion Bush gave to Africa? I had a gross of just over $ 199,000 and paid federal taxes of $ 51,400. This does not even count the SS taxes and medicare taxes. Since the US budget has 78% going toward social welfare, 78% of my taxes went into “forced charitable giving”–I was forced to give $ 40,092 to charity by the Federal govt.
If people realized how much forced charity they give in taxes, they would do as I do and not give one penny to any charity. If people would hold the USA government accountable for its tax waste and fraud, and the sending of BILLIONS of tax dollars to corrupt nations, without any form of auditing where that money goes, they would not give one penny to charity.
TO Diane M:
As long as people like you give to charities, then people like you will not hold the government accountable as to how they spend (waste) our tax dollars. You set the bar very, very low, Diane. You do not demand accountability of the dollars gouged from you in the form of taxes, then wasted away. Charities could be fully funded from our tax dollars if there were standards and audits in place and most fraud and waste eliminated.
TO TC:
You would help far more if you would stop giving to charities until the government stopped wasting so much tax dollars. It makes no sense to give away $ 30 billion in tax dollars when that is more money than every single charity combined took in over the last 50 years. Think about that.
To “truenorth” and others:
You missed the point that I made. If you REALLY wanted to help the less fortunate, you are not doing it “giving to charity” the way the system is today.
You do not understand how much $ 30 billion is–it is more than every major charity has collected in 100 years–Bush gave this much to Africa in one year.
If every citizen stopped giving to charity, there would be a major wake up call. Everybody would ask “why”. If we all responded that “we demand the US government stop wasting billions of unaudited charity at home and abroad” and “we demand that the government be responsible with out tax $ and end the fraud and waste and abuse of social welfare”, etc., citizens would have FAR FAR more to give than they do now. If you give a $ 1000 to charites now, you could give $ 5000 if the govenment would end the waste. It’s your choice– keep giving to charites now and help perpetuate the endless black hole, or change the system then you could REALLY give $
To “mouser”:
Your response,
“Sorry to hear you had to pay 51,400 in taxes WHICH BY THE WAY IS WHAT WAS HELD OUT OF YOUR CHECK!!!
WHAT DO YOU PAY ON APRIL 15th??? I WOULD BET ZERO!”
Your response may be the most stupid answer ever given to any question–ever!!!
You are saying that if you pay $ 51,400 in federal income taxes, then since it is not paid on April 15th then you really didn’t pay any at all??? Are you sane?
I mean really, were you mentally incapacitated when you said that? Are you implying that the only taxes one pays are those written out in check format on April 15th???
Are you nuts? Handicapped? Are you below the age of ten? The United States is regressing at Warp Factor 9 due to idiots like yourself. Only one with an empty brain cavity would think that you don’t pay taxes unless you write a check on April 15th.
By the way, re “pay withheld”, I am a 1099 worker so I don’t have taxes withheld. I had to manually send in the entire amount.
