Valley of the Sun United Way develops and supports hundreds of health and human service programs that address our community’s most pressing needs. VSUW partners with Valley leaders, volunteers, donors and other nonprofit organizations to find innovative solutions to address short-term individual needs and create long-term community results.
As part of their United Way campaign, students from South Dade Middle school produced this video to make their voices heard.

Dow’s Louisiana Operations has had a successful kick-off to the 2009 United Way Campaign. Dow celebrated with a luncheon with LSU Men’s Basketball Coach Trent Johnson, had 17 teams take part in the annual LAO Jambalaya Cook-Off, and won the 2009 Capital Area United Way Jambalaya Cook-Off and Community Games event. On May 28, 2010, Q13 Fox News This Morning anchors Mark Wright and Lily Jang interviewed United Way CEO Jon Fine and Business Partnership for Early Learning Chairman John Stanton about the Parent-Child Home Program, which will give every child an equal chance to succeed. The program will help children and families who are the hardest to reach and face poverty, language barriers and other challenges.

Heartland United Way 2009 Campaign Video
A friendly rivalry between Red River College President Jeff Zabudsky and Asper School of Business Dean Glenn Feltham becomes heated during a lunchtime workout. The competitive duo, who are also co-chairs of the Universities and Colleges Division of the United Way campaign cabinet, go to preposterous lengths defending the honour of their respective institutions. United Way Capital Area has been part of the Central Texas community for over 80 years and in that time they’ve helped thousands of families, local nonprofit agencies and community organizations, providing financial, volunteer and advocacy support. United Way’s goal is to advance the common good by creating long-lasting changes that prevent problems from happening in the first place, and provide opportunities for everyone to succeed. In keeping with their role of being good stewards of community resources, they recently conducted research and reassessed their role in improving community conditions. What they discovered should give everyone a disturbing wake-up call.
